The image on our home page is a photograph of graffiti in the pseudo-autonomous enclave in Vilnius, Lithuania known as the Independent Republic of Uzhupis. It is the home of poets, artists, musicians, philosophers, and dreamers. Their constitution affords them many civil rights, including:
-
Everyone has the right to make mistakes
-
Everyone has the right to be unique
-
No one has the right to blame someone else
-
Everyone has the right to celebrate or not celebrate their birthday.
-
A cat is not obliged to love its owner, but it must help him in difficult times.
The citizens of Uzhupis remind us to pursue our work with skill, determination, and passion, but not to take ourselves too seriously.
Random notes and thoughts
We believe that the best things in life are not to be found on Main Street or in well-lit tourist destinations. We salute the denizens of the backstreets: the taverns, diners, theatres, pool halls, independent coffee shops, bowling alleys, drugstores, tattoo parlors, and body shops.
